Find out more about I Heart Granola, which is made in small batches, by hand, with love.
Is your granola gluten-free?
Although we use no wheat products in our granola and use Certified Gluten Free Oats, sometimes oats contain trace amounts of gluten, due to cross-contamination. It is up to you to determine whether a trace amount of gluten is an acceptable risk for your own health and comfort
What are activated Nuts and Seeds?
Activated nuts and seeds have been soaked in water and salt for a period of time, usually 7-12 hours and then dehydrated. Soaking assists in breaking down the problematic compounds, namely phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors – enhancing both digestibility and nutrient absorption. Once soaked, the seeds and nuts are then dehydrated at a low temperature (about 36- 40°C) for 12-24 hours before eating
Is there added sugar?
There is absolutely no refined sugar and all of our granola’s are naturally sweetened with honey
What about nuts and other allergens?
All our granola varieties contain nuts
How many servings are in a 250 gram jar?
A 250g jar can go further then you think. In fact most people find that they cannot control their weight because they do not understand the importance of portion control and portion sizes. Granola can be eaten in replace of cereal, however we suggest you use it as a topper on your smoothies, smoothy bowls, oats or on your yoghurt and fruit bowl for that extra flavour and crunch! As such, the general recommendation for Granola is 30 grams a serving. This means that you will get +-8 servings per jar.
Does your granola include any genetically modified ingredients?
No. Although we don’t have non-GMO certification, we’ve researched our ingredients to confirm that none include GMOs
Will my granola look or taste exactly the same every time?
We make our granola by hand, which means that instead of the one-size-fits-all process of factory production, our products will always have a unique homemade quality. We also use 100% natural ingredients – so the flavour you get will always be as nature intended.
How long does your granola stay fresh and how should I store it?
It should keep well in an airtight container for at least six to eight weeks after it’s produced. We mark each package with a ““production date” under the jar, though it may still be delicious beyond that!
Granola should be stored under cool, dry conditions. Close your jar tightly once opened or transfer to an air-tight container. You may freeze or refrigerate granola, although with refrigeration, granola may stick together due to the honey. Just stir it around to break it up, or leave it out of the fridge to bring it back to room temperature.
How do I eat it?
That’s completely up to you, but if you want some suggestions we’re happy to oblige.
- Nibbling on a few clusters as a snack
- Taking a jar to the office and eating it at your desk
- Enjoying in a bowl with milk / almond milk / yoghurt
- Sprinkling on top of your ice-cream
- Topping off your smoothie
